Who’s who?
A wee guide to who the office bearers are:
Our Chairperson is Jackie Warner. She has a particular interest in baking, and catering for food intolerances. She lives in Kilaulay in South Uist, with her family.
Our secretary is Fiona Ballantyne. She is another South Uist resident, living in her new house in Snishival. Fiona and Jackie are both regular customers of the co-op, and have been in post since June 2008.
The treasurer is Dr Kate Dawson. She is a GP, and lives with her family in Iochdar, South Uist.
Other committee members are Libby Patterson (West Gerinish), Lillian MacLellan (Creagorry), Roslyn MacPherson (Balivanich), Christine Johnson (Ardivachair) and Marie Ladyman (Aird).
We all depend on Angela Monk, who is employed by the co-op to manage the ordering process. She lives in Iochdar as well. We also employ Fiona MacLennan for help with sorting out the orders.
We will be holding a General Meeting soon, so that we can discuss a few issues, including whether we can continue the business, exploring how we can increase our order volume, and whether to become members of the new group ‘Third Sector Hebrides’.
