Orders

When you send an order to the Uist Wholefood Co-op, we place that order on your behalf with Highland Wholefoods Co-operative, and arrange delivery of your order to a central collection point on the Uists. You can only order from the Uist Wholefoods Co-op if you can collect your order from the Uists. A Contract between the customer and Uist Wholefoods co-op for the purchase of Highland Wholefood Co-op products will only exist once an order has been accepted and processed.  This does not affect your statutory rights.

Prices and availability of goods is subject to change without notice, dependant on market forces beyond our control. This means that the price in the Highland Wholefoods Catalogue may be different to that charged at delivery. We cannot accept returns on the basis that the price has changed, unless you are prepared to pay the cost of returning goods by carrier or post; please refer to our Returns section.

For very large orders (over £100) we will charge a £20 deposit, to be paid at the time of placing the order. This will be deducted from your final invoice.

Delivery Charges

We do not charge for delivery of your order from Inverness to the Islands. We do not have a delivery service from the central collection point, but will do our best to put you in touch with fellow-customers who may be able to help out.

Delivery

In general, if goods are available, they will arrive on the island a week after the publicised order date. We do not have a ‘next day delivery’ service. All dates quoted for delivery are estimated delivery dates only and may be subject to change and we can accept no liability for any loss or damage (whether direct or indirect) for delivery at any time other than the estimated date for delivery.

If goods are not available from Highland Wholefoods at the time of the order, they will not be re-ordered, and you will not be invoiced. We have asked Highland Wholefoods not to substitute for items that are not in stock.

Cancellation

You may cancel your order for any reason up to the point at which it is sent to Highland Wholefoods, which will be the order date posted on the website. If you wish to cancel your order at any time after this, we will try to contact Highland Wholefoods on your behalf to arrange this. Goods ordered on your behalf can only be returned if you pay the cost of returning goods by carrier or post; please refer to our Returns section.

Payment

We send out invoices once the orders have been received from Highland Wholefoods. We accept payment by cheque, or by bank transfer. Payment in full within 28 days of invoice.

Our Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with your order, we will return it to Highland Wholefoods and deduct the item from your invoice. Valid reasons will include:

  • Short shelf life

If you have ordered an item that you decide that you do not want, then you will be liable for the full cost of returning the item to Highland Wholefoods Co-op. Returns should be arranged with the administrator. The Uists Wholefood Co-op will arrange returns through the cheapest method possible. The main carrier for returns is Uist Parcel Service. Where it is cheaper, items may be posted back. In order to minimise the cost to you, we may offer the item for sale to other members for two weeks, before returning the item to Highland Wholefoods Co-op.  If the item has been opened, or rendered unsaleable in any way, then you will be liable for the full cost of the item.
